FAQ
Questions people ask first
Plain answers about Corner Table. If something is missing, write to hello@cornertable.co.
Who is it for?
Professionals in Hong Kong who are single and want a real relationship. You must be 18 or older.
Everyone is welcome: every gender, and whoever you are hoping to meet.
Is it really an AI?
Yes. Juno is an AI and says so at the start of every conversation. It runs the first interview and proposes introductions.
It does not work alone. A person on the team checks every introduction before it goes out, and people look at photos, read reports and book the tables.
Are LGBTQ+ members welcome?
Yes, from day one. You tell us who you are and who you want to meet, and you get introductions on the same terms as everyone else.
What happens to what I tell Juno?
It is used to choose your introductions. Conversations are processed by an AI provider in the United States and are never used to train its models.
Other members never see your conversation, surname, employer, job title, email or phone number. The one person you are introduced to sees your first name, age, line of work, home area, photos and a short note. You can export or delete your data from Settings.
What does it cost?
Joining is free and there is no subscription. Our fee is HK$188 each, and only when a date is confirmed. There is no fee for the first date we book for you: when we approve your application, one credit goes into your wallet and pays for it.
The fee is for our work: the introduction and the booking. What you order at the venue is yours to pay.
The same rules apply to that first date. Cancel inside 24 hours or do not show, and the credit is lost. A credit we gave you cannot be turned into money.
What if I need to cancel?
More than 24 hours ahead: no penalty. You can also move a date once for free.
Inside 24 hours, or if you do not show up: you lose the credit and get a strike. Two strikes within 180 days pause introductions for 30 days. Three remove you.
If the other person cancels or does not show, your credit comes straight back, or we send the money back if you paid for it and ask.
Why only one introduction a week?
Because one person, chosen with care, gets your full attention, and you get theirs. The person reading about you is not comparing you with fifty others.
It also keeps us honest. With one introduction to give, we have to mean it.
What if there is nobody for me this week?
Then we say so, and say why. You pay nothing: the only charge is HK$188 when a date is confirmed. Time spent waiting counts in your favour when we choose the next week.
Do you promise I will meet someone?
No. Nobody can promise that, and we will not pretend to. We promise the work: a careful conversation, at most one introduction a week that a person has checked, a booked table when you both say yes, and fair rules about money.
Do I need to speak Cantonese?
No. Corner Table runs in English. Juno only introduces two people who share a language they could both spend an evening in. If that language is English, that is enough.
Where are the dates?
In Hong Kong, at a quiet public place we choose and book. A first date is a drink. Each person pays for what they order. We are not a partner of any venue.
Can I pause introductions?
Yes. From Settings you can pause, and we stop sending introductions until you are ready again. Your place in the queue is kept fairly when you come back.
When do introductions go out?
Every Wednesday at 7 pm Hong Kong time. One fixed hour, so it is a small weekly event and not a stream of alerts.
