Terms

The agreement between you and us when you use Corner Table. We have kept it in plain English. Please read it before you apply.

Last updated 10 October 2026. Kindleye Limited.

1. Who we are and what this is

Corner Table is a matchmaking service for Hong Kong. It is run by: Kindleye Limited. In these terms “we” and “us” mean that company, and “you” means the person using the service.

You accept these terms when you tick the box on the welcome form. If you do not accept them, please do not use the service. The privacy notice, the page on what we check and the safety page explain how we work. Please read them too.

2. Who can join

  • Adults only. You must be 18 or older. We check this.
  • Single. You state that you are single: not married and not in a relationship. You must tell us, and stop accepting introductions, if that changes.
  • Real. Your name, date of birth, photos and what you tell us must be true and must be yours. You give at least 3 clear, recent photos of yourself.
  • One person, one account. You pass an identity check before you are introduced to anyone. You may not hold more than one account or let anyone else use yours.
  • In Hong Kong. Dates take place in Hong Kong, so the service only makes sense if you are here.

A person on our team reads every application. We may decline an application, and we do not have to give a reason. We never decline anyone because of their gender, or because of who they hope to meet.

3. What we do

  • You talk to Juno, our AI matchmaker. Juno is a computer program, not a person, and always says so. It may make mistakes. You can correct what it understood about you at any time.
  • Every Wednesday at 7 pm, Hong Kong time, you receive at most one introduction, or a note saying honestly why there is none that week. A person on our team checks every introduction before it goes out.
  • When two people both say yes, we choose the evening from the ones you both offered, choose the venue and book the table.

We choose the person, the time and the place with reasonable care and skill. That is what we promise. We do not promise that you will receive an introduction in any given week, that you will like the person, or that you will find a relationship. Smaller groups will sometimes have nobody suitable in a given week, and we will say so.

4. Introductions and your answer

  • You have 24 hours to say yes or pass. A pass is private. We never tell the other person what you answered or why. They only ever hear that it is not going ahead.
  • If you do not answer in time, the introduction closes. If two introductions in a row go unanswered, we pause your introductions. You can switch them back on in Settings.
  • What you see about another member is for you alone. Do not copy it, share it or use it for anything except deciding whether to meet them.

5. The fee

  • Joining is free. There is no subscription. The only charge is HK$188 per person, per confirmed date.
  • The first date we book for you carries no fee. When we approve your application we put one credit in your account, and it pays for that date. This credit is a gift from us: it cannot be exchanged for money or passed to anyone else, and it is lost if you leave. Sections 6 and 7 apply to it like any other credit. We may end this offer at any time for people who have not yet been approved.
  • With a yes, you tell us the evenings you could do in the 7 days that follow the time to answer. When you both say yes, your date is the earliest evening you share, and you each have 24 hours to lock it in, with a credit you already hold or by paying. Paying gives you one credit, and one credit pays for one date.
  • If you share no evening, we show each of you the other’s evenings and ask you both once more, looking up to 14 days ahead. If either of you does not pick an evening or lock the date in on time, the date does not go ahead. Anyone who had already locked it in gets the credit back.
  • The fee pays for our work: the introduction and the booking. It does not cover food, drink or anything else at the venue. A first date is a drink, or dinner when you both ask for it, and you each pay for what you order.
  • You pay the way the payment page shows at the time: by bank transfer (FPS) to Kindleye Limited, or by card. A bank transfer counts as paid once a person on our team has seen it in our account; your date is held while they look. Card payments are handled by our payment provider, and we never see or store your full card number.

6. The fairness rule

You never pay for a date that did not happen through no fault of your own. Your credit comes straight back to your account if:

  • the other person cancels, at any time;
  • the other person does not confirm, or does not show up;
  • you two have no evening in common after two tries;
  • we cancel the date for any reason.

A returned credit pays for your next date. If you would rather have the money, ask us and we will send it back the way you paid: to your card, or by bank transfer, which a person on our team sends by hand. The same applies to any unused credit if you leave. This is for credits you paid for: a credit we gave you is not money and cannot be refunded.

If you each tell us the other did not show up, neither of you is charged, and a person on our team looks at what happened.

7. Cancelling, moving and confirming

  • More than 24 hours before the date: you can cancel with no penalty, and your credit comes back. You can also move a date once for free. You both then pick new evenings, and nobody pays again.
  • Inside 24 hours, or if you do not show up: you lose the credit for that date and you get a strike. The other person gets their credit back.
  • Confirming. From 30 hours before the date we ask you both to confirm that you are still coming. If you have not confirmed by 6 hours before the date, it is cancelled. That counts as a late cancellation by you: the credit is lost and you get a strike.

Someone has kept an evening free for you. These rules exist for them.

8. Strikes

  • Two strikes within 180 days pause your introductions for 30 days.
  • Three strikes within 180 days remove you from the service.
  • Life happens. If you were ill, or something serious came up, tell us. A person will look at it and can remove the strike.

9. How to behave

You agree that you will:

  • be honest with us and with the people you meet;
  • treat everyone with respect, and accept a no the first time;
  • never pressure, insult or harass another member, before, during or after a date;
  • never ask another member for money, or offer them an investment, a product or a job;
  • never record another member, or share their photos, name or anything they told you, without their clear permission;
  • not use the service for business, for research or to promote anything;
  • not try to get around the service: no copying its content, no automated access, no probing its security.

If you invite someone, you may invite up to two people. An invitation is a recommendation, not a promise of a place. They go through the same checks as everyone else.

10. Reports, pauses and bans

  • You can report another member at any time. A person reads every report.
  • We may pause or remove a member where we reasonably believe they broke these terms, lied to us, or put someone at risk. Where safety is involved we may act first and ask questions after.
  • A ban attaches to a verified identity, not to an email address. A banned person cannot rejoin with a new email.
  • If we remove you because of what you did, credits you lost under section 7 stay lost. Any other unused credit is refunded.

11. Your words and photos

They stay yours. You allow us to store them and to show the parts listed in the privacy notice to the person you are introduced to, for the single purpose of running the service. We never publish them, never use them in advertising and never sell them.

12. What we are responsible for

We will provide the service with reasonable care and skill. Please understand its limits. We check identity, age, photos and a signed statement. We do not run criminal record or marriage record checks, and we cannot know everything about a person. You decide whether to meet someone and how to look after yourself when you do. The safety page is there to help.

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that the law of Hong Kong does not allow us to exclude or limit. Nothing in these terms takes away rights you have as a consumer under Hong Kong law.

Apart from that, and only as far as the law allows: we are not responsible for what another member says or does, or for the venue’s food, drink, premises or staff; we are not liable for loss that we could not reasonably have foreseen, or for business loss; and our total liability to you in connection with a date is limited to the fees you paid us for it.

13. Leaving

You can pause introductions or delete your account in Settings at any time. If you have a confirmed date, the cancellation rules in section 7 apply to it. We can end the service, or your access to it, by telling you. If we do that for a reason that is not your fault, we refund every unused credit.

14. Changes to these terms

We may change these terms as the service grows. We will tell you by email before a change that matters takes effect. A change never applies to a date that is already confirmed. If you do not agree with a change, you can leave, and we will refund any unused credit.

15. Law

These terms are governed by the law of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region. The courts of Hong Kong have non-exclusive jurisdiction. Nobody other than you and us has any right to enforce these terms under the Contracts (Rights of Third Parties) Ordinance (Cap. 623). If a court finds part of these terms invalid, the rest still applies.
