What is an AI matchmaker, and what does a person still do?

How an AI matchmaker works, what a person on the team still checks, and what Corner Table does and does not promise.

Updated 26 October 2026

An AI matchmaker is software that interviews you and proposes who to introduce. At Corner Table, that software is called Juno. It always says it is an AI. It does not work alone: a person on the team checks every introduction before it reaches you.

What the AI does

  • Runs the first interview (about 15 minutes).
  • Keeps a structured file of what you said you want and need.
  • Proposes pairs that respect must-haves and a shared language.
  • Writes the short notes that appear on an introduction card.

Conversations are processed by an AI provider and are not used to train its models. Other members never see your chat. Privacy notice.

What a person still does

  • Reads every application before someone becomes a member.
  • Looks at every photo before it can appear.
  • Checks every introduction before Wednesday's drop.
  • Books the table when both people say yes.
  • Handles reports, money checks and the hard cases the rules cannot settle alone.

What we do not claim

We do not claim the AI can guarantee chemistry or a partner. We do not hide that it is software. We do not replace human judgement on introductions, photos or safety reports. Politics are never asked and never recorded.

If you want the plain list of checks, see what we check.
